Detriment to Benefit:  (Final)

At the upstream end of the property a large box culvert was constructed to facilitate access to both sides of the creek and allow restoration of the natural flow.

In anticipation of the apartments which would soon line both sides of the newly beautified creek bed, a 70 foot steel footbridge was craned into place to provide future residents with access to both sides of the development and to the community center.

Such major improvements to the creek were costly, both in terms of time and funds. As Matt Jumper reports; “the City of Poway was an excellent partner in the development”.

Years later, it’s widely agreed that the results, the peaceful and serene Brookview Senior Apartments, and the cleaned and preserved Pomerado Creek, were all well worth the efforts.

Sun Country Builders has been committed to sustainable and community-sensitive projects for decades and was pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this contribution to the Poway community.
