One of the most exciting renovation stories you're likely to encounter for a LONG time is Detriment to Benefit: Pomerado Creek and the Brookview Senior Apartments.
It's the tale of a city that needed to place 102 units of much-needed affordable senior apartments on a parcel bisected diagonally by a creek and a main storm water channel in a neighborhood where many residents were opposed to the idea.
This project involved complete renovation of the creek with a native vegetation re-establishment program overseen by the Army Corps. of Engineers and the US Fish & Wildlife Department.
