Sun Country Builders hosted the second year Construction Engineering class from San Diego State University at the Iowa Street Seniors jobsite. Professor Nensi Lakrori (kneeling, second from right) teaches ConE 280 – Construction materials. Sun Country Builders was represented by (back row, from left) Superintendent Ed Underwood, Assistant Super Dan Bailey, Director of Project Management and SDSU alum Brian Wardwell, and Project Manager Justin Vining. Matt Jumper, President of San Diego Interfaith Housing, is the developer of the Iowa Street Seniors project, and also an SDSU alumnus.
Construction Engineering is a new program in the SDSU Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The program is supported by a generous endowment from the San Diego chapter of the Associated General Contractors.

Sun Country Builders has been building multi-family projects in Southern California for more than 30 years, and has specialized in affordable housing projects since the early 1980s. Iowa Street Seniors, with 120 apartments in four stories on a concrete podium, will be completed in the Fall of 2016.
