Sun Country Builders prevailing wage compliance department plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to prevailing wage laws and sub compliance on our projects.

  • Understanding Wage Rates: Keeping up-to-date with the prevailing wage rates specific to the project type and location, ensuring all workers are compensated appropriately.
  • Payroll Management: Overseeing payroll processes to ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws, including accurate wage calculations, deductions, and benefits.
  • Certified Payroll Reports: Preparing and submitting certified payroll reports to the relevant authorities, third-party labor compliance monitors and documenting wages paid to each worker.
  • Employee Classification: Properly classifying our Self Perform workers and reviewing subcontractors workers classifications according to the relevant wage determinations to avoid misclassification and ensure correct pay rates.
  • Training and Education: Providing training to Sun Country Project Managers, Estimating, HR personnel, and other relevant staff about prevailing wage laws and compliance requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of payroll, work classifications, and compliance efforts to support audits and inspections.
  • Monitoring/Enforcing Sub Compliance: Reviewing subcontractor’s Certified payrolls via LCP Tracker, DIR, DOL, etc. and addressing any discrepancies or issues that arise.
  • Responding to Inquiries: Acting as a liaison between the owner, labor compliance monitor, subcontractors, workers and regulatory agencies, addressing any questions or concerns related to prevailing wage compliance.
  • Audit Preparation: Preparing for and managing audits or investigations by regulatory agencies or labor compliance monitor, ensuring all documentation is readily available and compliant.
